PRACTICAL INFORMATIONS
Participants may attend all classes and concerts of the Centre Acanthes. The number of participants is limited, so selection will be made on strength of applications. Participants are required to be present for the entire duration of the Centre. Lectures will be held either in French or in English, and simultaneously interpreted into the other language.
Fees
- Entry fees : 30 €, No costs whatsoever (such as change costs) are to be charged to Acanthes
Under no circumstances shall entry fees be refunded.- Course fees :
- French cheque made payable to ACDA-Acanthes;
- cheque to be established by a foreign bank, drawn on a French Bank, made payable to ACDA-Acanthes and written out in Euros;
- post office international money order to ACDA-Acanthes.
Applications
Deadlines:
- 25 March for the composition workshops,
- 25 April for instrumental workshops,
- 15 June for auditing students (The number of places is limited).
Full applications must be returned to Acanthes, including the following:
- duly completed, signed application form,
- detailed CV (résumé) in English or French, no longer than two typed pages,
- two recent passport photos,
- entry fee or proof of payment.
Confirmation of registration and further practical information will be sent out as from:
- 7 April for composition workshops,
- 16 May for instrumental workshops,
- 25 June for auditing students.
Participants must present themselves at the Chartreuse of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon on 10 July between 2 pm and 6 pm.
Bursaries
Two kinds of bursary are available. Participants may be awarded one or both:
course fees bursary: 160 €
accommodation costs bursary: 230 €
Applications for bursaries must be justified and accompanied by a reference letter. They will only be considered once the entry fees have been paid.
Bursaries will be granted after examination of applications. Half the bursary will be paid on the first day of the course, the other half on the last day. Recipients who leave early will not receive the second payment unless their departure is due to accident, illness etc.
Accommodation
Participants must find their own accommodation.
It is wise to book early (hotels, rooms to let, holiday flats, campsites) as there is an accommodation shortage during the Festival d’Avignon. Enquiries:
